Newport Sports Museum
The Newport Sports Museum has over 10,000 pieces of memorabilia in its collection including items from basketball, football, hockey, and baseball, golf, the olympics and is fitting for Newport Beach, surfing.
Some of the memorablia includes balls and jerseys used or autographed by such greats as Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle.
Admission to the museum is free. It is opened Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm. They are located at 100 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach, CA. Their phone number is 949-721-9333.
The museum is even available to rent out for events from fundraisers to private parties up to 200 people.
The mission of the Newport Sports Museum is to use its collection to help motivate children. In doing this, the museum has students visit from local schools or groups such as the Boy Scouts where they are able to meet and talk with athletes and enjoy the museum’s memorabilia.
