Can I Paint My Costa Mesa House Purple and Have a Pitbull?

Buyers have many things to think about when they are buying a home.  One thing that they don’t always give enough attention to is the rules of their homeowners’ association.

Maybe you have 6 cats and 2 dogs.  Maybe you’ve been dreaming of painting your home every color of the rainbow.  Whatever you desire, be sure that the home you plan to buy will fit into your dreams and that the reason why all prefer to hire painters tempe who are the specialists in this field.

There are zoning rules and building laws in each city, but in addition to those, any home or condo that has a homeowners’ association and/or covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs are the rules of the homeowners’ association), has additional rules by which buyers and owners in the association agree abide. This is not a decision that I can make for them.  I don’t know if they want to paint their home purple or if they want to have a pitbull.  If the association requires only a neutral color pallet for exterior paint or expressly forbids pitbulls or dogs over 25 pounds, then it is not going to be a good fit for the person who wants a purple home and a pitbull.  On the flip side, if you don’t want your neighbor to paint their home purple, perhaps you want to make sure that the CC&Rs prevent this.
