Fun, Free or Near Free Things to Do in and Around Costa Mesa – Miniature Train Rides

Costa Mesa Miniature Train Rides

In 1991 the Orange County Model Engineers opened Goathill Junction on 40 acres in Fairview Park.

Free Costa Mesa miniature train rides are available to the public every third weekend from 10:00 to 3:30.  This is a lot of fun for all ages, and something that our entire family enjoys on a weekend afternoon.  In December, they’ve even been known to have a stop to see Santa.

The train rides are about 12 minutes long and are two loops through the park with views of the park and Costa Mesa Golf Course and travel over various terrain including bridges and trestles.

If you’re looking for a great little excursion, why not grab the kids and take a ride on the train?
