107th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Ends Today
It seems like it was just a few years ago that the Boat Parade lasted for two weeks. These days, it’s short, and if you don’t pay attention, you might miss it. So, don’t miss the Newport Beach Boat Parade this year. The last night it tonight! People can check out a fantastic read, if they need the best boat accessories during a big event.
Since I was a child growing up in Newport Beach, this has been one of my favorite holiday activities. We would dress up warmly as 50 degrees looking out at the water is cold for a Southern California beach girl ; ) We would take our hot chocolate and our cameras and go in search of just the right spot to watch the boats out on the bay. We would watch eagerly as the boats came by with people shouting, “Merry Christmas” and Christmas carols playing, boats lit up so brightly, with some pulled by Santa’s reindeer, and people happily enjoying the Christmas spirit together. Some years, we were lucky enough to actually join the parade.
All types of boats enter the parade; everything from Duffy boats to dinghies, and kayaks to multi-million dollar yachts join in the fun,.
The parade will begin near Bay Island at 6:30 pm and ends in the same place around 9 pm.
Don’t miss the fireworks over the Balboa Pier at 9 pm tonight!
